Far Cry Thread #5: The Bliss (Joseph and Rheagal)

//Next up we have the BLISS

Joseph and Rheagal

"Welcome to the Bliss" the females voice whispered seemingly from nowhere. A green mist that seemed to sparkle began to float around Rheagal wrapping him in warmth and then.

-------

-Six hours later-

"Careful, you've just woken up!" Josephs voice came as he jumped up at the sight of the other shooting awake with a start. After Faith had drugged him with her bliss he'd all but been in a dream state for six hours straight and it was late. They'd been lucky enough to find him wandering the forest just past the Henbane river and not up towards Jacob’s mountains. Though maybe he'd call his older brother if things got out of hand he himself worried what might happen if he let the other have him. Rheagal was clearly a mess and a dangerous one at that.

Moving to push up from where he'd been sitting in the corner of the room reading he slowly started over to the other if only to make sure he wasn't still high on the Bliss which could cause quite a bit of sleepwalking even. He had to make sure it was really him and he wouldn't need to restrain him in the meantime. For what would be the second time. "You can hear me right?" he asked gently moving to leaning so he could look at the other’s eyes where Rheagal currently sat.

Rheagal had been caught and of course he fought. Every step of the way because he thought these people were going to help him, but when he realized where they were going and furthermore realized his siblings and Alfred wasn't around, he went nuts again trying to get away. He felt so betrayed and angry! This couldn't be happening to him...AGAIN!

---------

Though six hours later, he was groggy and achy but his mind felt rattled slightly. He blinked, looking up at Joseph, and tilted his head wondering what was going on. "Yea...I fucking here you! Why am I here?" He shook his head and groaned softly. "My head...." his head was throbbing and everything was so confusing. "Siblings...where...? Want them..."

"I've sent for them... Ssssshhh... The Bliss is not easy to come down from" Joseph replied gently before he slowly moved to flick on a nearby light. Of course he hadn't sent for anyone! Why would he? Only for them to allow him to do such again, clearly they were no help in the situation. "Cigarette? Water? Coffee? You should probably eat as well; you look like death itself" He added as he pulled his phone to text Faith that he'd woken. Really he wasn't sure where she'd gone but she'd rush off in a hurry. Annoying....

Rheagal was so out of it, he didn't understand what was really going on. Last thing he remembered was they had been at the church and he had heard the sounds of a chopper incoming. Then.....nothing. That scared him, for he had never flat out blacked out like that before! Oh gods, what had happened! Had he hurt someone? Shifted and panicked? He had a long scar along his abdomen, that he couldn't explain and that further made him panic a little. Hearing Joseph's words though, pulled his attention back to him. He might not be able smell lies like his mother can, but he detected a hint of sound in the man’s voice, an inflection if you will, and it made him really look at Joseph closely. "You're lying...." He said softly. "My siblings aren't coming. Where am I!"

Hearing Rheagal’s questions Joseph let out a sigh and slowly moved back over to sit on the arm of the sofa Rheagal was on. Glancing down at him. "Maybe I am? For now... I didn't send for them because I didn't want them to worry too much while you were still out" He told the other all to bluntly. "Secondly, you're safe. But if you must know we're at one of my sister's recently acquired places. You made it pretty far from where you lost it I'll give you that" He added with a chuckle. Granted he probably could have gotten further if he'd not slowed down but thankfully some of Faiths men had spotted him attacking a deer and well? It hasn't taken long to catch up before he crossed into the state park region.

Rheagal lifted a hand and rubbed his head and sighed softly He hurt everywhere, and it killed him to know that he lost it. He hadn't in such a long time. "I haven't done anything like that before." He said softly. "I was triggered, just being in the church in the first place." His words held a bit of venom before he calmed himself again. Holding a hand, palm forward, he blatantly showed the scar that he still bared. "A priest did that to me, hence my reserve and fear of all things religious. Being strung up on a cross isn't exactly the most fun thing int he world." He had no idea why he was opening up, but he figured if the man understood that he hadn't meant to hurt anyone and the reason why he snapped, he might understand, just a little. His siblings believed that most humans weren't evil and were compassionate. He wasn't sure he believed that, but it was worth a try. "Mother found out and came for me....but it was too late. I was already up there....solely because the crazies thought I had demons. I don't. I was born like this. I can't help it." He lifted his eyes and looked at Joseph. "I have never hurt anyone ever, before. Please tell me I didn't...." He broke down a bit, biting his lip to hold it in.

Hearing Rheagal Joseph's brow furrowed a bit. That truly explained far more than the other probably thought for he understood, or at least had a good amount of empathy. "Us humans are truly responsible for some of the most horrific things" He muttered slowly shaking his head as he seemed to be drifting off into his own thoughts for a moment. Though he didn't know the story fully one thing he did know was it sounded like whoever had done such was hardly worthy of heaven themselves. However he also believed anyone could repent should they truly want to. Only real sinners deserved such awful treatment and children were far from that. "Well there are far more evil things in the world the someone who can become an animal. Simply because they did not try to understand what it is you are makes them the real sinners" He added all to bluntly before he moved to grab a pack of cigarettes from the nearby coffee table and pulled one out. Placing in between his lips and tossing the pack back he went quiet again for a moment until the other was suddenly looking at him and asking him about what had happened. So he truly didn't remember a thing at all? Eyes shifting to look down at Rheagal again he slowly exhaled the smoke and let out a sad sigh shaking his head. "A few yes. Ours.... " He paused for a moment to allow that to sink in. "From what you are telling me however it sounds like you need help, not judgment or hate. At least that is my opinion and you have my word my people at least will not hold this against you. Do you always.... Forget when it happens?" He asked rather curiously now as he studied the other for a moment. He couldn't claim to know what the other was going through but for one he had to deal with the likes of his own older brother so, perhaps there was still hope for Rheagal. However bleak it might be and hardheaded he might get. Furthermore if the guy could contain his fear of them he could be an asset to them. One thing he did agree with Jacob in though the extent of how much was somewhat of a disagreement he'd been recently avoiding. He didn't believe they should pump the other with drugs and forcefully do anything or they also risked losing him entirely.

Hearing that he had, indeed someone and not just one person but more than one, Rheagal's face crumpled completely as he turned away so as not to be seen as weak for the tears that escaped. He even bit his fist to keep from openly sobbing at that fact. He had killed people? Not in defense or in a war, but because he had been triggered? Because his fear had overcome him and, in his haste, to get away, he had taken life. He hated himself at this moment. Utterly and completely hated himself. He couldn't believe he had acted that way. But then again, to be fair, he had been in a church, surrounded by things he feared, hearing all sorts of things happening around him.

Pulled out of his misery, he sniffed as he wiped his eyes and vehemently shook his head at Joseph's question. "No. I never forget when I shift like that. I am always myself. I can hear you, understand you and even communicate back to you when I am in that form. I'm not an animal. Only in body, but my mind is always me. Human." He didn't know what else to say, save that he was really sorry as he had never wanted to hurt anyone, and that he wanted to leave and return to his siblings, but he didn't know, if after his stunt, they would let him and a small part of him, didn't even blame the man before him if he didn't.

Seeing the other’s reaction was enough. Clear as day it was obvious the other male felt enough remorse for what he had done. Sitting there thinking for a moment he finally moved to stand letting out a slow breath. "Fear... It breaks even the best of us Rheagal. But it's what we choose to do with that fear. For example.... " He paused and moved to place his hand on his belt, eyes going to the ground for a moment before he looked back to where the other male sat. "My brother John. We were separated throughout the foster system as children.

When he was ten he lived with some people who thought his soul had .. been tainted. Where that idea came from is beyond me but we were all troubled kids" He admitted with a bit of a shrug. "He'll likely never admit to this now but they beat him, beat him until the only thing he could say was 'Yes' to everything they said. To everything they wished to hear" he continued shaking his head and briefly looking a bit saddened. "Then you have my brother Jacob. Who was captured... Tortured and forced through all manors of experiments. He's hardly the brother I knew before" He added before shaking his head and moving his eyes again back to Rheagal. "I do not share this to try and make you feel that you aren't alone in such things. But for you to understand that we each choose to let fear control us" He added pointedly with a more serious look crossing his face. "John, He embraces what we do. He admits he's a sinner like we all are. And he proudly embraces using the word 'YES' to overcome. He took what was done to him and has turned it into something wonderful" Joseph added, a faint smile pulling at the corners of his lips. "It doesn't mean he doesn't suffer or that he is perfect. I see it often. But he's chosen to make something out of that memory that once only brought fear" He added before moving too slowly pace over to lean against the door.

"And Jacob.... Though I fear he may never truly be reached completely. He now runs his own experiments of sorts. He's smart, and he uses it instead of how we found him two years ago wallowing in self-pity and his own vomit going between bridges, parks and homeless shelters. Again someone who's taken that terrible thing and turned it into something far more" He finished giving Rheagal and bit of a soft caring look.

"Now what that might look like for you? Who am I to tell you? Perhaps you'll need to figure that out yourself. But I for one do not wish to see anyone let their fear drag them into an endless pit of despair. I will help if I can.... As I know you're siblings in their own way wish to as well" He added with a rather small smile. He knew full well Allya for one had been beyond worried and scared. To the point she'd nearly driven his siblings crazy with her antics. Then if course he knew their friend was slinking around himself. The only one he himself had lost track of entirely was Armand but he knew it was likely the male was doing similar to what the others had been doing ever sense Rheagal had taken off after that mess.

Hearing the other man tell his and his sibling's stories, Rheagal sniffed a bit and blinked the last remaining tears away with a sigh. "It's true, we all have things we fear...and though I love my siblings with everything I am, and I know that they love me, they will never fully truly understand. How can they? Besides that one blip in my past, we all have lived sheltered lives, given what the world would think of us and my siblings haven't had anything remotely dangerous...besides the odd fight or two elsewhere, ever happen to them." He sighed again and shook his head. "They knew what had happened to me, but until something like that happens to yourself, you can't fully understand it. I---I don't want to be a killer. Because I am not one. Mother raised me better than that, and I know myself better. But being anywhere near a church or any place of religious significance....scares the ever-loving shit out of me." He paused and chuckled softly, crossing his arms against his chest. "Allya once suggested 'immersion' therapy...or whatever the hell it's called. But we all see how me spending one night there made me act? I doubt I could do so again." He growled softly under his breath at himself. "I am not usually like this. Nothing scares me...or so I have led everyone who knows me to believe...." Here he trailed off, not at all sure what he was trying to say. He didn't want to be afraid anymore, didn't want to hurt people, ever. he did need help, and strangely, wondered if these strange, new people might be able to help him? "I want to see my siblings..." He said suddenly, looking back over at Joseph.

"Well you won't need to do that. Not yet anyhow" Joseph replied with a faint smile. Whether Rheagal admitted it or not one thing was already impressive. He'd calmed down a lot and was standing there speaking to Joseph of all people and calmly no less. That alone spoke volumes to someone so terrified of everything they at least outwardly stood for. "Come, I'll give you a ride" He finally stated motioning for him to follow as he then moved putting his cigarette out in a nearby ashtray then turned to open the door into the hall of the large cabin like lake house. That really had once been the Marina for the lake. It had been the closest to take him to and seemed a much better idea than any of their other more populated bases.

Standing slowly, as he did feel a little wobbly, Rheagal turned to follow Joseph out. He didn't know why he had unburdened himself so easily to the man, he just found Joseph easy to talk to which was odd cause Rheagal never talked to anyone. Ever.

Looking about as he left the room, he noticed the place looked pretty done up as a cabin and though the lake was nearby, he didn't seem to mind. "Where exactly are Allya and Armand and Alfred at?" He asked, curiously. "How long have I been...well...out?" He was very sure that if he had been gone for more than two days, Allya at least would be freaking out by now. She was the real 'Alpha' of the group and kept them all together. Rheagal was the muscle and Armand was the Brains. It had been them against the world for as long as he could remember. All this...meeting new people and the like was...well...new. He didn't trust at first, but maybe, just maybe, these men were alright.
