Far Cry thread #6: Allya’s usual attempt at caring

//Up next we have Allya and her usual attempt at caring ... At least it was made I SUPPOSE

//This was probably when she started to understand that most likely Jacob and Staci are usually a package deal ..... But she also only ever ships Allya with two people and she was so desperate for John so trash story

“You’re so cute when you’re tired, you know.” Allya giggled from where she had been sitting, watching Staci. He was kinda cute, in a rugged, boyish kind of way. And the fact that it looked like he had started dozing was adorable to boot.

Huh? Wha!?" Staci's head quickly moved off the steering wheel and he blinked a bit confused looking before running a hand over his face. Damn it! Had he actually almost fallen asleep! Jacob would have bounced his damn face off the wheel for that shit! Then again, for once it wasn't Jacob shid gone with him to drop supplies off at the bunker but Allya who sat in the passenger seat currently. Brow furrowing a bit he cast her a bit of a frown before moving to open the truck door.

He'd lost track of time but he was sure the guys unloading the back had to be done by now right? Plus despite it being only almost lunch time he was dragging. Pros of how much he slept anymore.

Slowly making his way to the back of the truck he nearly slammed into one of the hunters carrying a box of canned goods and side stepped his eyes going wide as the larger man growled at him from under the red face mask they all wore. 'Creepy fucks." He thought watching as the other headed for the shed that worked as a fake cover for the bunker's entrance. His eyes then moved to the truck. Three more boxes, and a good few weapons. 'Weapons he could use to just kill all of them.... No! No! He'd be signing his own death warrant!' He let out a sigh and moved to hop into the back of the truck deciding to at least pull the boxes and weapons out so they could leave.

Allya watched Staci start and giggled, or tried not to as she slid out after him. She noted, however, how tired he was and her eyes furrowed slightly. Was Jacob working him to hard? Was his job with the cops wearing him out too? Poor man. She felt for him, she really did.

Reaching up, she took a crate and was helping to carry it into the hidden bunker, when she threw Staci a look and her eyes furrowed slightly. "What did you say?" She asked him, thinking he might have muttered something under his breath, and she hadn't caught it because it was a whisper. Setting the crate down, she stood and went to get another, but she damn near paused again when she heard something about 'guns and death' coming from Staci. What was he on about? Why was he so nervous? Shaking her head, she put it out of her mind for now and helped finishing unload.

It was only as they were heading back to the truck that Allya stopped Staci and held out her hand. "Here, let me drive. I know where we are going, and you seem very tired. Get a few winks while we head back." She smiled faintly at him. Though as she waited, she tilted her head at him. "What were you mumbling about earlier? Guns...Death? You alright?"

He hadn't really heard her at first, nor noticed the way she was looking at him. Not until he'd set down the last of the weapons and went to say she'd drive them back. Well, he wasn't sure about the sleep part but he didn't really care if she wanted to drive or not so pulling the keys from his hip he sort of shrugged and hand them to her. His expression remaining a bit tired and stressed looking for the most part and as usual he hardly made eye contact. To him she was nearly up there with Jacob’s siblings on the chain of command with what she seemed to get away with. Somehow...

He froze however and suddenly stared back at her as she asked him that. "What? I?... No I ... I... " He began to fumble over his words in confusion. Had he said some of that out loud?! Shit! "They just um... Scare me" He lied and poorly at that which he soon mentally slapped himself for. He was a FUCKING cop. Well, probably more an ex-cop now but still!!! He sounded STUPID!! "I mean those kinds .. you know what forget it I'm fine let's just go" he stammered so fast he hardly even seemed to take a breath before he soon turned to head around the other side of the truck.

How could he be so stupid!? Stupid! Stupid! Before he knew it he was grabbing his own hair and punching himself in the head in frustration. Stifling the need to scream in frustration and panic. Then taking a shaky breath he fought to pull himself together before climbing into the passenger side of the truck and slumping back against the seat sort of staring off into space at the dash.

Allya's eyes furrowed at seeing the instant panic in Staci's eyes. Hearing him stammer, she knew without a doubt that he was lying. She didn't need to 'hear' him or smell his lies to know so. Any fool with eyes could see him panicking. The way he stammered, the horrible lies he came up with cause he was a cop and was afraid of guns? No way! But she tried not to let that bother her till she climbed into the driver’s seat and happened to look out the window and saw Staci all but beating the hell out of himself. What the hell!?

When he seemed to climb into the truck, she took a moment before putting the key into the ignition and starting it, but still she didn't move. She just stared out ahead a moment and then turned slowly to look at Staci. "You know you don't have to be afraid of me, right?" She asked softly, not liking his reaction towards her at all. "Whatever you share with me, stays that way. Between us. So please, don't hurt yourself again. Not around me." All she said as she put the truck into gear and headed off back the way they came.

But Staci's reaction had even her nervous. Hadn't he spoken that out loud? Surely she couldn't 'hear' him too? That would be to weird. She couldn't 'hear' human!

Slumped in the seat by the door Staci was staring down at his hands. Picking at some tape that he wore binding together two of his fingers. Seeing as one was probably broken if he had to guess. He'd had sprains on his hands before and they certainly didn't hurt this bad. However he did notice she wasn't going way before she spoke and nervously he cast a brief glance in her direction. Then she started speaking and his breath nearly hitched. She'd seen that!? And of course she'd say that!? She didn't have to worry about the way she breathed every second around Jacob and .. everyone. Even some of the others he knew would go and snitch on him just to get Jacob reeling on him again. Like they thought it was hilarious.

Still he simply nodded and stayed silent, not exactly wanting to engage in conversation about. Whatever he'd accidentally said. Fuck he must be sleep deprived at this point to be blurting out random bullshit like that. Moving to run both hands over his face he took a slow tired breath and moved to roll down the window so the wind would help keep him mostly alert. He didn't want to fall asleep, regardless of how exhausted he was. His dreams weren't a fun place to be anymore.

She wasn't sure what was going on, but gauging from Staci's reactions to her, he feared her. That...made her sad actually. She wasn't mean or even mean spirited. Sure, she could be vindictive and petty and even hostile if called for it but wasn't so just because. Surely, he had spoken out loud. She shook her head, trying to clear it. She couldn't hear humans. She had to keep telling herself that. She couldn't.

But then why didn't she believe that? Why did Staci look at her like she was demon sent to drag him to hell when she had asked him about what he had 'said'? No, this didn't make any sense. But she wouldn't use him as a test dummy either. So she focused on getting them back to Jacob or wherever they needed to go next for a pickup and hope Staci didn't think anything to incrimination.

Sitting in silence and still pondering over how he'd slipped up like that Staci didn't say anything. His eyes remained on the window to his right in somewhat of a depressive stare. As if things couldn't get worse. What if Jacob thought he really would do something like that? Ok maybe he'd wanted to on more than one occasion. He'd even considered slitting Jacobs damn throat in his sleep at least once but.... He couldn't. He couldn't and he hated that he couldn't. Because a part of him had never fully gotten rid of that image of Jacob before. Whether it had been fake or not he now wasn't sure either but it had happened and he couldn't kill someone who he'd considered a friend and who he'd shared a bed with. If even so briefly. Part of the reason he'd tried to call in sick that day but then Derrek not knowing better had shown up at his house and talked him into coming in. Now here he was, and well? Apparently his friend was somewhere out there to in a bit better shape for now. That wouldn't last though. None of this would.

Spotting the veteran center finally ahead on the road Staci bit his inner lip a bit hard. Hopefully Jacob was still in a fair mood and Allya wasn't lying when she'd said she wouldn't bring up whatever.... That... Had been. He seriously didn't feel like fighting with Jacob over anything today. He was to fucking exhausted he'd probably just end up letting it happen. Which sometimes he swore made it so much worse. Jacob saw weakness and made sure to make you suffer for it. At best.

As the truck rolled past the yet another spike decided with a corpse strung up and covered in blood with a bag over its head Staci made a face. That one looked new. Another white tail bit the dust ey? Shit... Speaking of .. ahead he could already hear shouting and as he squinted he spotted the large van used to transport prisoners. What had they missed.

Jacob stood arms folded over his chest, shirtless and his hair a bit tossed like he'd just gotten out of a shower. His eyes glaring as his hunters pulled three guys from the back of a van. Well four but the shouting had been one attempting to run only to get shot in the back of the head by Tristan's arrow. Upsetting the other three ...

Shit he knew those kids, Wheaty, Gunner, Aaron. Just kids really! And he had no doubt that it was probably Mark with an arrow in the back of his head just now. Damn him! Still he kept his mouth shut and tried not to stare to much as he climbed out of the truck finally once Allya had parked it.

Pulled from her silent thoughts, she was not prepared for what they had stumbled upon on the way back to the veteran's center. Parking the truck nearby, Allya's eyes furrowed as she slipped out of the driver's seat and leaned against it, arms crossed. This wasn't her business far as she was concerned and she had no idea what was going on, but it looked like kids were involved. Though older kids, they were still young. Allya wasn't one for taking life unnecessarily. Taking life to eat or to keep from being eaten, that she understood wholeheartedly and even embraced. Taking life in war, she understood that too; and she knew that some groups in war often used kids to do their dirty work but it didn't mean she liked the idea. It bothered her. A lot, and yet she tried not to let it show. Weakness, she was slowly learning, would not be tolerated or accepted by Jacob. At the very least, he would tease her over it if he saw it within her. At the worst...well...he had slapped her but that was for another reason and one she didn't really count anymore.

Looking over at Jacob though, she very nearly did a double take, before a small smirk crossed her face. Damn! Why did he have to look so fucking good! Shaking such thoughts from her mind, she tried to blot out the screams and the fussing nearby, hoping she wouldn't be called to deal with any of them herself. She didn't fancy having to prove she wasn't weak...again to the damned blasted, sexy, annoying man!

'Don't see me. Don't see me. Don't see me' Staci moved to walk faster towards the building trying to just pass by the situation entirely. He didn't want any involvement nor did he want Gunner or Wheaty recognizing him. That could be awkward. "Real smooth.... So what the fuck you even capture us for then? To shoot us?" Wheaty shouted yanking to try and get away from the hunters holding him. That's when he did spot Staci just past where Jacob was standing and he furrowed his brow. "You ain't getting in my head bitch I won't fuckin LET YOU!!!" He shouted spitting towards Jacob almost immediately.

Being the oldest he'd pretty much taken it on himself to get Jacob’s attention. Shit, Gunner was still only seventeen and Aaron had only just turned eighteen a month ago. With Mark dead that left Wheaty as the eldest being almost twenty-two. Eyebrow raising Jacob looked down to where the spit had hit his lower abs and jeans then back up at the native not far away. "Take the other two inside.... Throw that one in the cages. Few days out there should do the fucking trick" He stated all to nonchalantly before moving to step back letting the hunters holding onto them drag them off.

That's about when he spotted Allya and for a moment he briefly stared towards her then looked over to where Tristan was hopping off the van. "Take the day off. You've earned it." He told the other in a casual tone before turning to head in the direction they'd taken Gunner and Aaron. They'd be easier to crack for information whereas Wheaty... Well he'd have fun with that one later.

Allya's eyes furrowed slightly as she looked Staci's way as he attempted to walk off unseen. Don't see him? Everyone could see him. Wait! She had...NO! No she didn't! She couldn't 'hear' humans and though she understood why she had heard Jacob; she didn't think it pertained to anyone else! What the hell was going on! Was she going crazy!?

Her jaw had literally dropped, and she was unaware for a few seconds as she watched the smaller man walk away rather quickly. Watching him closely. Yep, she was going insane for Staci's mouth wasn't moving! SHIT!

She quickly recovered and she hoped in time for she noted Jacob looking her way. Quickly schooling her face into a neutral look as she turned to stare right back at him. She watched him walk back inside and for a moment, she lingered outside. How the hell was this happening? She knew she shouldn't keep this information to herself, but the idea of telling anyone was terrifying and telling Jacob in the wrong way might cause him to blow up at her. Again, NOT her fault! But she knew she had to tell him. Though the idea scared her silly! So, swallowing that fear, and burying it, cause she knew Jacob would sense it in an instant, she went to follow him inside.

Walking over to him, she came to a stop at his side and smirked a little up at him. "I can help." She said, keeping her voice low, her eyes solely on him, trying to gauge his reactions. "Something....has happened. Let me try?" She quired. Her eyes flickering to the boys and back to Jacob, with a kind of a knowing look. Hoping he wouldn't get to curious or demand to know what she meant. She didn't even know what was going on yet!

Eyebrow raising Jacob looked down to Allya curiously. How could she possibly? Though he didn't ask immediately and for a moment just stood there, his eyes soon moving back to where both were being strapped into the chairs he used to move prisoners around within the building. "Awesome. I always wanted to be fucking brain washed. Hey uncle Jake! Can you make me forget my ex-girlfriend?" Gunner popped off unshockingly going the smart route. Under normal circumstances and before Jacob actually might have found it amusing but he certainly didn't right now. "No .... But I might make you constantly think she's stalking you. You'll never sleep again. Never eat. You might even kill your best friend" Jacob replied in an eerie yet mocking tone. This of course made Aaron turn sheet white where he sat next to Gunner. Clearly the quieter of the two.

"You want to interrogate them? Seriously? Do you even know what we're after? Or were you planning on trying to find out where the fairies live?" Jacob asked all to seriously which earned sniggers from the four hunters and even Gunner. Jacob though only smirked as he watched Allya a bit curiously.

"The fairies man!? I'll never tell!!" Gunner popped off again still trying to hold onto whatever jokes he had left.

Allya had never been more unsure of anything in her entire life, but IF she had heard Staci, and he had no tie whatsoever to animals, then maybe her gift could be refined. Tuned in a way to be useful. They were at war, weren't they? People were dying. She would be 'forgiven' for using her gift in such a way surely to help those she was slowly starting to care for. Wouldn't she? She took a breath and snorted lightly out her nose at Jacob, narrowing her eyes up at him. "Look, do you want my help or not?" She hissed at him. Noting his curious look.

Though she turned to glare at the youngsters tied to the chairs nearby and she slowly opened her mind, testing the limits of her gifts slowly. "What is it you want to know first?" She asked Jacob, turning to walk slowly a few paces towards Gunner and Aaron. Looking back and forth at each boy in turn. Tilting her head, the way a predator does when gauging its prey.

Gunner was proving to be the more 'active' of the both of them, so she turned her attention to Aaron first. She knew from experience that the 'shy' ones usually broke first. But how to begin? She had never willingly listened in on someone before as it was instinctually done without thinking. That thought alone, held the answer, now, how to use it and harness it? Moving a bit closer to Aaron, her eyes boring into the boys, she tilted her head the other way as she felt her mind slowly open and reach out, as if searching. Even when the boy broke eye contact, didn't matter as she had closed her eyes and 'saw' the glowing beacon that was his mind within her own. It was shielded but not overly so and a little prying she found a crack within and slipped inside easily enough. Though doing so made her wince ever so slightly as a small throbbing sensation had started up behind her eyes. Gods, this hurt.

'Hello.' She called out softly with her gift. Her eyes opening as she stood now stock still. 'My name is Allya. You are Aaron, right?' She tested to see if he could hear her in turn, as his mind seemed to go silent suddenly. Either he was really shy or he was smart enough to try and block her. Odd sensation as she probed deeper, which only made the throbbing pain hurt that much worse.

Standing a few feet away Jacob crossed his arms and watched as Allya moved closer to the kid his brow furrowing a bit. "First and last chance before she does whatever she's planning. Where's Eli? Where's the Whitetail base. Give me one answer I know you gotta know one" Jacob stated his eyes not really on Allya now but more so on Gunner who looked smug. To smug... Fucker straight looked like Eli with that expression and it made Jacob even more angry. Though he did manage to hide it well himself.

"Um one, kiss my ass. Two, no we actually have no fucking idea where either of those thingies are. My uncle's stays hidden from us for this reason genius duh.... And I live in our old house. So nice tr... OUCH! Fuck!!! God damn what was that for!!!?" Gunner’s words broke off into a shout of pain as Jacob suddenly moved and no time had snapped his fingers. Still he also didn't offer much explanation and simply glanced to Allya curiously seeing Aaron's face slightly twisting up now in pain. "Fuck ow.... Stop! Stop!!!!" He suddenly shouted in a panic eyes squeezing shut as if that would help keep her out entirely. However whatever she'd probably be getting in his panic and her experience right now was a pure mess. Images of them running through the woods from the hunters, an argument with Wheaty who wanted to go back to the wolf's den and DID claim it wasn't far but that may only slightly help given they'd been surrounded by trees and somewhere off the highway down the mountains about twenty miles almost.

All of that mixed with all sorts of crazy imagined ways he thought he might die at the hands of herself or Jacob or even Tristan. Especially Tristan who just shot their friend through the damn head. "Please make her stop!! STOP!!! Fuck! OW!!" He shouted again suddenly jerking in the chair as if attempting to yank free. "The fuck is she doing? .... Is she!??? Fuck do me!!? You think I'm fucking lying!!? Let her look! I ain't!!!!!" Gunner shouted boldly looking fairly pissed off suddenly which even so still got the butt of one of the hunters’ guns to the back of his head from behind.

The images that darted through Allya's mind was a mishmash of things the young boy had done, seen or been to. Arguments of places and with people, she tried to filter out. Paying no mind to his screams for her to stop nor Jacob's curious gaze as she probed deeper. The throbbing within her mind became a piercing sensation the deeper she pushed herself into that poor boy’s head and if it hurt her, she couldn't begin to realize how much it hurt him.

'Give me what I want, Aaron.' She whispered lightly into the boy's head. 'Give me what I want I and will stop.'

When she saw that argument about the wolf's den, she focused more on that memory and everything else seemed to go silent. Maybe this was how she could do it. Filter through them, the thoughts slowly, one at a time?

"Wolf's Den....not far." She spoke out loud. Hoping it would make sense to either Gunner or Jacob. "Forest....twenty miles off the highway, down the mountains. About twenty miles, give or take." She paused and probed deeper. "Let me SEE!" She hissed out through clenched teeth as the piercing sensation was becoming a stabbing! Like someone was literally stabbing her in the head, repeatedly. 'Aaron....give me one thing. One thing and I will stop!' She could feel it, she was close. Sorting through the thoughts the poor boy had one at a time, trying to slow them down so they made some semblance of sense. She couldn't hold it much longer. I HURT!!!

By this point Aaron was nearly screaming, that pain shooting through his head clearly too much to bear. "Make her fucking STOP!!! Bitch if anyone DOESN'T KNOW IT'S HIM!!!" Gunner shouted yanking at the straps on his wrists glaring at Allya furiously. Maybe the female couldn't hear him? Then again he still didn't fully get what she was doing other than it had to be something in the guy’s head right? They'd heard all manors of rumors about Jacob so why not multiple of his people? However even Gunner frowned a bit seeing Jacob who now seemed a bit tuned out where he stood watching.

His arms over his chest and his head cocked a bit to the side Jacob was studying both Allya's pained expression and Aaron’s pain and panic. Even with him shouting in agony he was trying to piece it together. She'd claimed she could only do this to animals ... And himself.... So.... Had she lied? "Allya?..." He finally spoke, only just loud enough his soft voice could just be heard above Aaron's screaming.

So close! So close! She was sure! But she wasn't used to this! Didn't know how to do this. Shouldn't be able to do this at all! What was she doing! PAIN! so much bloody PAIN! It hurt too much....she couldn't....hold it.....!!

Gasping softly, it was Jacob's soft voice that actually helped pull her back as she had suddenly realized, much to her panic, that she didn't know how to withdraw from the boy's mind once she was in there.

Breathing hard, her head throbbing, she turned to look up at Jacob with a half confused and half...not quite panicked, but something close to panic as well as painful expression upon her face. "I'm---I'm sorry." She stated bluntly, blinking a few times as if to clear her vision.

She wanted to bolt, but knew how that would look to Jacob. Guilty, weak and she wasn't either of those things. "I---I can hear them." Her voice soft. "Not like I normally can but..." She paused. "I don't know what's happening....I'm not supposed..." She cut off and looked over at the boys and then back at Jacob. "Outside?" She tilted her head and almost wish she hadn't as she turned to walk out. She wouldn't say such things in front of people they were against. If Jacob wanted an explanation, or as good a one as he was going to get, he would follow.

Nodding slowly Jacob turned to leave without saying or even really reacting much. He'd of course had a sneaking suspicion once she'd started and her words only confirmed it. Stopping in the door he looked back to the two and nodded. "Take them to one of the empty rooms. Separate em... Not sure they'll be much more help anyway" He muttered the last part finally admitting he actually in some way believed Gunner. Mainly because the kid had so desperately offered himself up for whatever she was doing to prove he told the truth. It made sense to. Unfortunately Eli wouldn't be that fucking stupid to let his family know where he was hiding and IF he did? He'd be at least trying to keep them far more hidden than these boys had been trying to vandalize and steal his shit at the airstrip.

Stepping out into the hallways he merely held the door open behind him long enough for Allya to join him before his arm moved to her shoulders. Slowly moving a bit further down the hall before he finally let her go and cast a look back, still walking and heading for the stairwell towards the end seeing as they were mowing bringing the two teenagers out and taking them elsewhere. "So what? You actually just force yourself into that kid’s fuckin mind right now?" He finally asked all to bluntly his eyes moving to look down at her curiously.

Allya was legit trying NOT to panic at this point. Humans! She could 'hear' humans, and if they 'allowed' her, they could hear her back, and if not, she could shove her way into their minds against their will! What the FUCK! This was NOT happening! It simply wasn't! She wasn't a mind reader! And then she had almost gotten stuck in that kind's mind?! HELL...maybe she really was going insane.

She followed Jacob silently, all the while panicking inside and trying not to show it. She had managed to get her breathing back under control, but her head still ached with a dull throbbing sensation. When he put his arms around her shoulder's she nearly stiffened, point for her that she didn't!

Hearing his question once he let her go and moved to a stop, she looked up at him, met his eyes with her own. "I--I don't know what happened." She said softly, trying to think it through herself. One step at a time. "It was weird. I heard faint whisperings earlier, like static over a radio and thought....well, thought someone I was with was whispering under their breath as we worked. But when I answered, they gave me a weird look and froze before playing it off." Her eyes furrowed. "I didn't think anything of it...till I heard it again, when you brought those two inside. Faint but clearer." She licked her lips, trying not to panic again. "Honestly Jacob, I am not supposed to be able to hear humans! I don't know what's happening, but...I....somehow got into that kids mind and it hurt! But I could see...everything....it was a jumble of thoughts, fears, nothing concrete and so rapid I thought I would go dizzy. To make it worse, I wasn't sure how to get back out! Not till I heard your voice was I able to pull back." She bit her lip as she started to pace slowly. Up and down. "I shouldn't be able to do this at all....what is happening?" Her voice soft, as she turned angrier at herself than actually afraid now.

Jacob watched her carefully, his brow furrowing in thought as she began to explain. So she had no idea about what she could even do? Seriously? He nearly rolled his eyes but managed to reframe from doing so and simply let out a sigh as he moved leaning back against the doorway and crossed his arms over his chest. "So you mean to fuckin tell me.... All of this bullshit? Is just some freakshow accident you can't explain? The fucks it sound like you're whining about it...." He pointed out bluntly. For someone who'd talked such a big game like her cock was the size of a horse when she'd gotten there she was now acting like a scared little pussy. Not to mention it was becoming more evident he hardly needed to believe she could actually do what she'd threatened. Not yet anyhow ...

Hearing his berating her pulled Allya up short and instead of panicking that anger took over again. Yes! It was all new to her and a little scary as she shouldn't be able to do this at all! How dare he tease her instead of figure out a way to help her! he was the one with the connection to the wolves, maybe they could help each other whenever they decided to start training together. Instead of being an asshole about it. It scared her and she had a legitimate reason! Glaring at him as if she would strike him, her gift reacted before she could call it back. She had gone stock still as her hands slowly balled into fists that shook with barely contained rage. the pain she had experienced earlier had fled as she reached out subconsciously to Jacob and latched onto a thought within his mind without realizing she had done so! So easily because she already knew what his mind 'sounded' like and it wasn't as if they both had expected her to try something like this with him.

"Don't. You. EVER. Berate. Me. AGAIN!" Her voice soft, deadly almost as she forced that memory up and into the light, not yet knowing what she had latched onto, and part of her not even realizing she was doing it to begin with. SHE knew better, than to try this with Jacob, or any of the brothers, but he had set her off.

Quick as it happened, she withdrew, gasping for air as if she had realized what was happening without her knowledge and was aghast at the whole thing. That...what the HELL had that been!? It had been so...fluid, so easy. It hadn't hurt as much and she had latched on so easily as well. Was anger a key? But that wasn't control! That was...wrong! But it had been a show of strength too, so maybe Jacob wouldn't be totally pissed at her? Yea...and maybe the sun would come up as Swiss cheese in the morning. Great!

Fuck that HURT! Immediately he hissed his hand shooting back to the wall his face twisting into a grimace as she reached and snatched at the closest thing she could possibly grab. Shockingly enough thanks to just a bit ago when Staci and he had been going through some of the shit in storage from moving he'd came across something that had triggered all sorts of memories. His favorite gun once. When he was a kid. The one John had gotten him for Christmas one year. Damn thing was top of the line back in the day and actually could have probably taken someone’s eye out in the least. The things they used to sell to kids right? Where he'd gotten the money for it Jacob hadn't ever asked but he'd been ecstatic and had snuck out that night with both Joseph and John to attempt at popping a few birds and rabbits.

It had been actually fun. One of those rare moment all three had actually smiled as kids, even when they'd gotten home and nearly been caught. Their sniggers echoed down the hall as their drunken father stomped down the hall slamming a door loudly. It had been them against the world back then. Months before things had taken a hard left turn for the worst. However just as her mind nearly pulled at the pain and anger the echoed in the background of the happiness she'd finally pulled back and he let out a gasp nearly sliding down the wall where he leaned. His hand shooting out to the railing of the balcony overlooking the inside of the building. Taking in a slow breath as he slowly let himself shake off what had just happened his eyes suddenly shot towards her angrily. Taking a breath he slowly moved to stand upright and moved for a moment to tower over her. "That's what I fucking thought.... " He sort of spat at her after a brief moment of glaring down at her furiously.

Managing to gather himself a bit he slowly moved to turn back for the stairs. He needed to finish getting dressed and a cigarette. Also at least a good moment to process what she'd just fucking pulled. As useful as it was that uneasy feeling was back causing his chest to even feel a bit tight. She claimed to not know what she was doing yet had done that so easily!? Then what!? Expected him to fucking believe her!? That and from his side he wasn't a hundred percent sure what all she'd seen as her assault had felt more like a jumble of racing thoughts and her voice echoing loudly inside his own head.

Her breathing was rapid by the time she had pulled out. Seeing where that one memory was going, she, herself, hadn't wanted to cause Jacob anymore pain and had forced herself to pull back. He was a friend! She didn't want to hurt him! What was she doing!?

Though as he righted himself and towered over her and snarled at her, she simply glared right back at him. Unmoving, unblinking. Waiting till he all but stormed out before she 'allowed' herself to freak out...silently.

She paced, up and down the doorway leading to the balcony, silently arguing with herself as her hands threaded through her hair! Her lips moved as she talked to herself under her breath but not loud enough to carry.

"What the HELL was that, Allya? What are you doing? You can't be doing this! You can't! It's wrong. Mother taught you better. You shouldn't be able to do this at all!"

She took a deep breath and held it for a few seconds, hoping that would calm her. Nope. If anything it made her panic more as she clasped her hands to her ears as if that would help and silently screamed to herself, while running those long fingers of hers again through her raven hair and trying not to pull it out of her head!

"This can't be...I'm not...FUCK!" She actually shouted out loud. Pulling herself suddenly upright as she kicked at the doorway. "FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUUUCCCKKKAWWWWWWW!!!" A primal scream of rage left her throat as she ceased her panicking and that anger returned. Ok, so, she could 'hear' human now? She would simply have to learn how to control it then. Learn what to look for when she went rooting again. Not use it on friends or family or those she loved ever, ever again...unless they said it was ok. Damn this was going to be hard, as she swiftly turned and left to head back downstairs. She needed a moment...and maybe a drink.
